Extraction: Maceration of the flowers
A pale yellow mobile oil is also known as Marigold oil, to obtain the oil the flowers are macerated in fixed oil to produce this carrier oil. Fixed oil is not obtained from this plant but extracts are produced which makes the therapeutic properties of the plant available. Chiefly, the flowers are macerated in a fixed oil to produce Calendula Oil.
Soothing and calming it is good for heavy legs, bruises and eczema. Calendula is a diminutive form of the Latin "calendae" (the first day of the month) and the plant is so-called because of its habit of flowering all year round in the wild. Officinalis is applied to all plants that in the past have been used for medicinal herbs. Originating the Mediterranean it is now grown all around the world for its beautiful yellow and bright orange flowers.

Safety Data
No known contra-indications. There are two types of Marigolds namely calendula and tagetes. Calendula is the carrier oil and Tagetes is an essential oil, the essential oil comes from a different plant (Tagetes patula) but it can be also known as marigold oil.
